QCA Announces 2011-2012 Leap Dance Project artists

This year’s Leap Dance participants represent the best of what’s happening for dance in Queens right now. From established artists to emerging choreographers, Leap features a diverse range of individuals making work on an variety of topics, all rooted in their experience as Queens residents. Through the Leap program these artists will have increased access to local resources, learn new ways to produce and promote their work, and continue to build the dance community in Queens.

About

The Leap Dance Project is a professional development program designed to support individual dance artists and foster a community of dance professionals in Queens. Created by QCA in partnership with LaGuardia Performing Arts Center, this nine month program features professional development workshops with experts in the field; peer leadership circles to promote the exchange of information, resources and ideas; admission to local performances; rehearsal space, and a performance opportunity in conjunction with the Queens Art Express that is free and open to the public.
