On Thursday, January 21st, 2010, Queens Council on the Arts honored 44 Queens arts organizations and 17 individual artists who received the 2010 Queens Community Arts Fund awards, generously funded by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs’ Greater New York Arts Development Fund, the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Program, and the JP Morgan Chase Arts Foundation Regrants Program. This year the Queens Community Arts Fund distributed $224,000 to artists and arts organizations in the disciplines of visual arts, film, theatre, multi-media, literary arts, dance and music. In addition, the Queens Arts in the Schools Grant program distributed $17,800 to 8 Queens schools and their cultural partners, generously funded by the New York State Council on the Arts Local Capacity Building Program.
