The Power of the Proverb:  Yiddish Folk-Sayings and Imagery

Yiddish, like every other language, is replete with Jewish folk wisdom, expressed in kaleidoscopic imagery.  These folk-sayings reflect 3,500 years of history and echo the practices, customs, lifestyles and certainly the ethics and mores of a surviving people.
