Queens Council on the Arts acknowledges the important role of artists as leading citizens in their communities. QCA continues its ongoing commitment to helping artists stabilize and manage their careers with an exciting professional development opportunity, the Individual Artist Initiative.

The Individual Artist Initiative provides the valuable opportunity to mentor with a professional consultant in a field of your choice: marketing, technology, portfolio and website development, financial planning and fundraising, etc. IAI is designed specifically to assist artists who have already attained a degree of recognition for their work. To qualify for IAI, you must be established enough in your field to be able to identify the self-management skills you need most in order to take your career to the next level.

Consulting will begin in April and be completed by June 30, 2009. Technical assistance workshops and peer meetings will be also provided through related programs.

Funding for the Individual Artist Initiative is provided by the National Endowment for the Arts and JPMorgan Chase Foundation.
