This program supports the creation of new work by individual artists living in Queens. Artists of all disciplines are encouraged to apply. Artists are required to present their completed project to a Queens audience. Grants are divided by discipline, and alternate on a year-to-year basis. For 2009, Performing and Literary artists may apply for the NYSCA DEC grant, while visual artists may apply for the GNYADF grant. Artists who have received this grant in 2007 or 2008 are ineligible to apply.
The Online Grant application will be available mid to late July. Until then, you may download the following guidelines and narrative questions.

This NYSCA funded grant offers support for individual artists residing in Queens, who are interested in creating a new work that directly involves their community. The artist must engage his or her community through active participation in the creation and/or production of the project.
